You may be aware of "Supersize Me," the 2004 movie in which Morgan Spurlock eats nothing but McDonald's for 30 days and develops all sorts of maladies as a result.

I wrote previously about Sue Shekut's blog post triggered by a Men's Health story titled "I Hate Fat People," by Richard Cunniff, and now I return to the story itself. It is excellent, full of reporting and original thought, and I commend it to you wholeheartedly.

I laid down on the cool, shaded concrete in our front yard yesterday morning after a short (for me) run, and in little time created a pretty full silhouette from my cascade of perspiration. Yes, it was hot out there, even though I went earlier than almost ever, expressly to try to beat the heat. Also, because we had appointments to keep, I ran in the neighborhood, which is hillier than I would prefer to be running in.
