Meanwhile, what about the environment?

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

LOVE THIS from Think Progress, which points out that CNN's Republican debate, the last one before Super Tuesday, is sponsored by some front for the coal industry. And, no questions have been asked on global warming, it says, in the past four debates.

Perhaps that's only coincidence. But this is what comes from commercial sponsorship of public-interest forums. Big Coal, after all, is probably paying for these events only in the interest of public discourse. CNN, probably, has focused its questions elsewhere because it judges global warming to not be very important in the grand scheme.

And yet, because money changes hands between these two upstanding corporate citizens, some people might infer that something untoward is happening. These two upstanding corporate citizens have been impugned!

And it could have been avoided, if only corporations weren't involved in funding public-interest activities.

It's a shame, really.
