Tasting menu of items

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

A few items have been hanging around the desktop, waiting for me to do something with them, so I'm just tossing them all into this news salad (ugh, another stupid food allusion, like that weak-ass headline).

I have my eye on KickinKitchen.TV, a Boston-based non-profit that is producing brief TV episodes on healthy cooking with young teens as the actors. The most recent episode features Daniel Boulud.

NEDA, the National Eating Disorders Association, has renewed its website and is pretty excited about it. It offers "additional resources to those in need of information and support, as well as a more comprehensive, diverse and interactive experience," a press release says.

ABA, a 12 Step group for anorexics and bulimics, offers phone meetings for those who don't have face-to-face meetings where they live, or who want to know more about the group. Here's a directory.

Milestones In Recovery, a Cooper City, Fla., treatment center, has assembled a database of articles related to eating disorders.

Sow It Forward, the grants-and-partnership program of Kitchen Gardeners International, is offering aid to nonprofit causes interested in starting or expanding food garden projects that benefit their community. Here's a link to the page where I read about it. Here's a link to e-mail KGI's Roger Doiron. Deadline for applications is Jan. 11.
