It's a little weird following Indiana TV reporter Jenny Anchondo on Twitter, because she tweets things like "Right two lanes of I-65 SB closed near Keystone Ave. due to crash http://pic.twitter.com/XncxoXMA," and "When @Fox59sjones is happy, everybody is happy. He got a 2 for 1 from the vending machine today. #Score."
But we share a common interest in how food is consumed (I guess that's the tie; Twitterbuds hardly ever define the connection), so I hang in there with the traffic and weather.
A couple of weeks ago, she did a meaty, four-part series on food addiction that brought Tennie McCarty to Indianapolis to counsel a viewer who agreed to have her diagnosis and treatment filmed for TV.
McCarty is a growing force in food-addiction treatment, having hosted the reality TV show "Addicted to Food," having scored a role in the Oprah empire that goes beyond that show, and having a new book out that shares the name of her Buffalo Gap, Texas-based treatment center, Shades of Hope. I've never gone to Buffalo Gap, but I emceed a conference she attended and we've been in touch since.
It is rare for TV news to devote so much time to food addiction, which is what prompted me to acknowledge what Anchondo and mates created. I suggest you check the series out.
