I just got a query asking if I would come to Washington in a couple of weeks to lobby for a renewable energy bill. No way I can do it, but wanted to pass along the details to others who might. You'll see that the letter writer asks for others who might be interested:
Greetings! I am writing this preliminary email to inquire as to your availability for the week of July 19, 2010.It is my responsibility to recruit individuals from the state of MA to travel to DC who will be active participants in urging Senator Scott Brown to vote in favor of the climate bill. Clean Energy Works (CEW) is a coalition of organizations, including National Wildlife Federation, Environmental Defense Fund, Environment America, League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club, The Audubon Society, The Alliance for Climate Protection, and others working to pass clean energy and climate legislation in Congress this year. CEW is hosting an American Clean Energy Fly-in to Washington, DC for 2 days the week of July 19th. Residents from 21 states across the US will be coming to Washington, DC, to lobby the Senate to pass comprehensive clean energy legislation this year. If this is something that you might be interested in participating in, please respond to this e-mail and let me know. ... We value your insight and knowledge on the environment and climate change; therefore, we believe that you would be a great contributor to the discussion on comprehensive clean energy legislation. Also, I would appreciate the names and contact information for any additional Massachusetts individuals who you would recommend for this Fly-In. Sincerely, Catherine Moore Deputy Director of Communications, Repower America
