CAI released policy guide on marketing to kids

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Corporate Accountability International has just released a policy guide on marketing of fast food to children, which is an outgrowth of its Value The Meal campaign, which I have supported both financially and by hosting a house meeting to spread the idea to friends.

Over the next couple of weeks, I hope to share portions of the report in this blog. Today: Four recommended policy changes that would help safeguard kids from the processed-food industry's relentless marketing:

1. Advance school policies that curb fast food marketing to children

2. Utilize zoning and other measures to reduce the fast food industry’s influence in communities, hospitals and other institutions

3. Limit fast food promotions that target children

4. Reduce public subsidies for fast food corporations that damage the public’s health as a means of leveling the playing field for businesses that sell healthier food
