Thanks to my colleague Pat Hartman over at Dr. Robert Pretlow's blog Childhood Obesity News, here's a decent companion to my post yesterday about the science behind food addiction: The early adopters of food-addiction thinking.

Among other threads, I followed a link inside the piece to "Aaron's" story, as related in the last of a three-part series on the psychology of food that was presented on Canadian television. After reading the text, I continued on to the comments, which were dominated by the usual troglodytes who fester in such places.

It reminded me that anyone who has adopted the food-addiction paradigm at all still qualifies as an early adopter.
