Me and Dr. Kessler

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Pretty exciting news for us here at Fat Boy Thin Man central: I've been invited to be on "Where We Live," an hourlong morning show on WNPR-FM in Hartford, Thursday morning (Nov. 4) at 9. That's the first exciting part.

The second is that the other guest will be Dr. David Kessler, the former FDA commissioner and former dean of the Yale School of Medicine who wrote "The End of Overeating," which resides on my desk and which I annotated vigorously when I read it in hard cover. I have written about, or at least referred to, the book in six previous posts, which you can find by searching the blog for his name. (That's easier for you, I think, than my adding six links.)

I don't think that Kessler got everything right in his book, but I probably didn't get everything right in mine! But he came as close to sketching the landscape for obesity that I've yet read.

I hope you'll be able to tune in, and if not, I'll seek to post the audio at fatboythinman.com.
